Missing in action

I kept telling myself I’d find the time to write something this week – or at least find some tired old thing in a notebook and revise it into some reasonably presentable condition. Every time I look in my inbox there’s a new scheduling detail to tweak, a new survey, a new training module, a new student to welcome and fit in with the rest. I kept thinking there would be time somehow. But then I heard myself talking to the parents of my little students. “Don’t pressure them too much,” I said. “Give them breaks,” I said. There you are. We all need to stop, take a breath (away from the smoky air), and relax. I’m sure before long I’ll be back in action with something that bears a strong resemblance to writing.

Till then, in gratitude for my 6:15 walks in the park when nobody’s out but the coyotes and some very nice dog walkers and for the afternoon breezes and fog from the Pacific, I’ll be busy lesson planning and looking at my students’ incredible work on Seesaw!
