We Are All Job

“The road you walked was thorny, through no fault of your own.” Maria Ouspenskaya, from The Wolf Man, 1941

What would happen if you were to find out

that everyone feels

what you feel

at one time or another?

What would it do to you to learn that

everybody goes through

pretty much the same things,

same desire, shame, disappointment, fear?

What could you cling to then?

How would you define yourself and justify

the choices you’ve made if everybody hurts

just like you do?

Show me.

Where are your wounds?

I’ll show you mine.

In this, we are all Job.

A quote from The Wolf Man, impressive and meaningful. The shadows of trauma abound.
